TB Awareness & Screening Programme By MAPTB Perak

A joint-venture programme organized by Malaysian Association for the Prevention of Tuberculosis (MAPTB) Perak (Kuala Kangsar District) and Pejabat Kesihatan Daerah Kuala Kangsar was held on 9th September 2025, Tuesday at the Orang Asli One Stop Centre (OAOSC) Kg. Bawong, Sungai Siput, Perak. The target group was the Orang Asli community of Kampung Bawong, Sungai Siput.
The Opening Ceremony began with welcoming and appreciation remarks by Dr. Zarirah Adzni binti Mokhtar, Specialist doctor in charge of Public Health, PKD Kuala Kangsar, followed by a speech by Mr. Kumaravadivelan A/L Kannan, PPT, SBStJ, Chairman of Malaysian Association for the Prevention of Tuberculosis (MAPTB) Perak.

The objective was to raise greater awareness about tuberculosis (TB) and to promote early detection within the community.

The programme offered TB screening and medical examinations, including counselling sessions on TB symptoms, risk factors, prevention, treatment and follow-up. A mobile X-ray van was set up on-site to facilitate lung screening among community members.

Fun activities were organized to enliven the event and attract community participation, several activities were organized, such as Colouring Contest for Orang Asli children. Lucky Draw with exciting prizes were being sponsored by the Malaysian Association for the Prevention of Tuberculosis (MAPTB) Perak.

The outreach programme achieved a very good response from the Orang Asli community, especially among women and other at-risk groups.

They had another event. I told them about TB. They gave me 30 mins to talk about TB.

MAPTB perak, Taiping branch organized a TB awareness program and medical camp in Aulong , Taiping on 21st June. The program was officiated by ADUN Aulong and attended by the District Officer too. About 400 local residents graced the event.

Program Kesedaran Penyakit Tibi & Pemeriksaan Kesihatan AM telah diadakan di Arena Sukan Aulong yang telah dirasmikan oleh YB The Kok Lim, ADUN Aulong, Perak. Diantara aktiviti-aktiviti yang diadakan adalah seperti pemberian bantuan kewangan kepada pesakit TB, bakul makan dan pelbagai aktiviti-aktiviti.

Place: Kg Baru Jln Pasir Bedamar, Teluk Intan. 2 doctors and 10 PKD staff , plus 3 MAPTB members were involved.

A TB awareness event, together with medical camp, blood donation drive was organized by MAPTB, Hilir Perak in Hutan Melintang, Perak.
Officiated by ADUN Hutan Melintang. Attendance: about 320 local community. TB pamphlets were distributed and explanation were given by our TB exco to the people.

yang akan diadakan di Kuala Woh, Tapah, pada Ogos ini. Semua daerah digalakkan untuk mengambil Bahagian.

telah menganjurkan program saringan Tibi dan pemeriksaan X-ray di kalangan orang asli di Kampong Ayer Denak, Tronoh, Perak

Program bantuan makanan dan pembayaran wang TAS telah di sempurnakan oleh Timbalan Pengarah HRPB Ipoh.
Seramai 20 orang pesakit tibi telah menerima wang tunai RM100 seorang untuk 2 bulan.
Dan bungkusan makanan bernilai RM110.00 seorang.
Selepas itu mesyuarat AJK MAPTB Kinta bermula, AJK sebulat suara melantik En. Benjamin PPP U44 dari ED
sebagai pemangku Setiausaha MAPTB Kinta.

Hadir bersama ialah Pengerusi Kinta Encik Paul, Setiausaha Dr Vejayan, Bendahari Encik Gilbert, Bendahari Negeri Encik Gnana.
Turut sama dua orang (2) pelajar sarjana Encik Ruvanes dan Cik Uma dari UTM yang sedang menjalankan beberapa kajian mengenai pesakit TB.

A cheque for RM3,000-00 was presented by MAPTB Perak branch in Batang Padang to the Batang Padang Health Department to set up a "COUGH-CORNER" in the Tapah Hospital. The cheque was presented by Yang Dihormati Toh Paduka Indera Dato' Hj.Mat Rasid bin Ayob to Encik Munir Abdullah from the District Health Department on 16th November 2017.
